Re: [RC] Can anyone help me with a horse's bloodlines? - Heidi SmithWas wondering if anyone had their Arab genealogy CD handy and could tell me what the strain (are they Polish? Egyptian? What?) of a few grandams and grandsires of a horse I'm looking at. Or even just an overview (I think he's Polish and Egyptian, but I'm probably wrong). The horses listed are Ansata This is a farm prefix--there are 530 horses named "Ansata-something" but Ansata bred Egyptians, so likely all are Egyptian. Csarka "Czarka" is a quarter pre-WWII Polish (grandsire is *Witez II) and 3/4 CMK Moftakhar Egyptian. Dikaaba CMK, with a pre-WWII Polish line mid-pedigree. Garbo Half modern Polish, 1/4 CMK, and 1/4 Spanish. Yuca No Yuca, and no Yucca, but various variations of the latter. Check the spelling (or see note below). Sotep CMK SA Lillibelle CMK. Just a suggestion for future requests of this nature--it is WAY easier to look horses up if you just give us the name of the horse in question, and then we only have to reference one pedigree to see all of that, as opposed to looking up each ancestor of that generation individually. :-) Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
