I recently had my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructed which was
the result of a bad riding accident. My surgeon grafted from my good knee
to rebuild the injured one. I am an avid rider (endurance), and I am
allowed to begin riding again Feb 22, just 8 weeks after the surgery. My
question is, has anyone had their ACL rebuilt who is an avid rider, and how
are you making out? My doctor said I will not need a brace to ride in. I
understand that it takes 6 weeks for the graft to take, and nearly a year to
really regain full use. I work out with physical therapy every day,and my
progress has been great, but I want to hear from others how their knees may
feel after long hard hours in the saddle. Any help or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated! Thank you.
