RE: [RC] mile markers on trail - David LeBlanc

"But there were no mile markers on the trail (is this common?)"

Boy, I just can't shut up today. Thank goodness I'm leaving
my computer for the weekend. So, dear Kristen, no, there are
no mile markers on 99.9% of endurance rides.

It isn't _that_ bad. I know of one that has little diamonds every mile. Had
another this year that had markers every 5 miles (with funny signs). I don't
know how many (lots) tell you that it is 4.4, 7.6 (whatever) miles to water,
or where the trails cross. At the very least you know how far it is to the
vet check (unless the RM has fouled up). I use all these things to pace
myself.
