[RC] mentors - j marshall - DreamWeaver

The
mentoring program could be so much more! How do I
know that these are credible mentors? Are there
qualifications to be a mentor?

Hi Jen, once you go here:  http://aerc.org/Education_Mentor.asp  and pick out somebody, you can then go to http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/Individual/RiderHistory.asp  and type in their last name and look up their ride record to see what rides they have done and get a general idea of how much experience they have.  Or, if you have a ride chosen that you'd like to go do, check out the previous years list of who was there:  http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/RideResults%5Cdefault.asp   Maybe you can find some of the same people on the mentor list.  You can then email them and ask them questions about that ride, or anything else.  You may want to start by trying to find a mentor that is your state or region, or just picking any one or two on the list and emailing them your questions.  The people who are on that list all went out of their way to provide their contact information with the intent of helping or mentoring others.  I am sure that if somebody there cannot help you they can refer you to somebody else that can, or simply contact another person.  Don't be shy about asking for advice or help, the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask!

Happy Trails,
