[RC] Dear J Marshall - Cindy Collins

There is NOTHING stopping anyone from finding and using an experienced and
successful rider as a mentor. This happens all the time. Do not be
discouraged because we have an open forum to discuss and disagree and
agree on these important issues. Some of us just don't think you can
legislate morality or common sense and resent unnecessary rules being
imposed upon responsible folks who got into this sport, vs. CT, because we
hate unnecessary and subjective rules. Find a mentor. I have mentored,
unofficially, many new endurance riders. I don't need a rule telling me I
have to mentor anyone and I surely don't need ANYONE telling me whether or
not I can start my next endurance horse in a 100 miler or an XP event for
his first ride. Hang in there and make your decision based on reality,
not hysteria. Cindy
