Re: [RC] Supplement shelf life - Susan Garlinghouse

My guess (emphasis on the word 'guess') is that under fairly normal
circumstances, you should be okay if you use it within 6-8 months, and
probably even within a year. The proteins of interest can probably be
denatured to some extent in the heat of a really hot tack room (like 120 F
or better), so if that's a likelihood for you this summer, my suggestion is
keep the main supply in a cooler place and just bring a week's supply or so
to the barn to be fed.

Subject: [RC] Supplement shelf life

I'm about to start my gelding on Corta-Flx liquid. When it's warm enough
that the ground isn't like concrete and we can really get back to work,
he'll also start getting IM injections of a generic form of Adequan.

Does anyone know if I should be concerned about the shelf life of Corta-Flx
liquid? I'll only be feeding it to one horse, so I need to know whether to
get the larger size.
