[RC] trucks - what is 'adequate' depends.... - A. Perez

... on what you are towing. I pull a Brenderup Solo (one horse,
no dressing room) easily and happily with my Ford Ranger. My
trailer dealer says I could easily pull a Brenderup two horse
with the same truck, and I am inclined to believe her, given how
well the Solo pulls. Half the time I forget it's there. The
only time I really feel it is going up long grades, but
donw-shifting and not trying for too much speed is all that
requires, or if I forget to put in hight-octane gas, in which
case the Ranger's engine knocks. The Brenderups are pricey, but
whole lot less than a half-ton V8 truck!
