[RC] Helpful Idea - Keeping Blanket Straps Done Up - Tamara Taylor

Hi all,

I board at a stable in Saskatchewan, Canada where it is currently *very* cold
and many of the horses are blanketed. Every day I see several horses with the
belly or leg straps of their winter blankets undone and flapping in the breeze.
I always worry about these guys as it is much easier for the blanket to shift
when they move around and lie down. I'm afraid one of them may have a wreck one
day. So, that said, I wanted to share a little helpful tidbit to help keep your
winter blanket straps done up snugly. I find that the little green donuts for
elastrating calves work really well when you slip them over the "T" shaped
blanket clip. It helps keep the clip done up snugly. I bought a bag of the
little green elastrator elastics for a few dollars from my local farm store.
Hope this helps!
