[RC] Sports Medicine Boots - Catfish DanielsHi,I've been wondering and wondering about some things I've read about Sports Medicine Boots - the kinds that wrap around the fetlock and are supposed to give more support. I remember that at one time lots of people swore by them. Well, not too long ago I encountered a trail rider who was very outspoken about his opinion regarding the importance of a sport horse needing to wear such boot, so I decided to read more about them as I myself am not using them for my horses. That's when I started to read about horses actually weakening in those tendon areas after continuous useage of these boots. One article I found (I think it was in the Endurance World magazine) that talked about those boots actually hindering the natural movement of the horse, yet risking more lameness injuries and further making this boot something rather negative. Then taking heat build-up and possible sand beneath those boots, .....what's your take on it? Just curious. Then I started to think....hmmm...perhaps this boot would be great in the aid of rehabilitating a horse with tendon problems. Then I found in "The Bowed Tendon Book" that they would never recommend the use of such boot because it would "hide" any warning signs. So go figure...
