Old Macs stay on much better than EZ boots. So unless you are doing CTR, which does not allow anything above the cornonet band, you might try Old Macs, at least for your conditiioning rides. I've got a few hundred miles on mine. You must have the correct size for good results, however.

I also have some "Horse Mocs" (do a subject search)  made by Debbie Nelson, and they are doing quite well too. I don't think they will stand up to a lot of tough miles, but I carry them in my cantle bag for quick on/off use in stretches of rocky areas.
