RE: [RC] re: RP and pads - David LeBlanc

I've had half a mind to talk to Skito and see if they would be offended by
taking a Supracor pad and putting it inside one of their covers, or even cut
the Supracor right down the center, then put it inside the cover.

Our normal, thick Skito squirts out from under the RP, esp. in hilly
terrain, in no time - but I really like the way the covers are made. Maybe a
thin pad Skito?

Just checked out Supracor's site - they apparently have covers for the "Cool
Grip" pads now.

In terms of taking scissors to the Supracor, I'm wondering just how far to
cut and where. I'm also wondering how to trim out the rough edges.

IMHO, Supracor has some great material, but they're not as smart about horse
pads as they could be. I did have one of their covered "endurance" pads, and
it was too small to fit under any of our endurance saddles >8-/ The zipper
had to be 1/2 unzipped, or it would chew up the bottom of the saddle.

Subject: [RC] re: RP and pads

Lysane-you really don't need or want a thick pad under your
RP...that might negate all the great things about how the
panels work. As I've said, it's laziness on my part that I'm
just searching for a way to keep my panel pads clean and not
have to wash them so often. Becky R., I have used a wire dog
brush and it does help, but I don't like what it does to the
"nap" of the wool and once again...I am back to laziness!
I'd just like something underneath that I can just shake or
hose off. I think that I'm just going to have to cough up
the $240 for a supracor pad and then (Oh my goodness) take
the scissors to it. Seems like the best option.
Cindy
