[RC] "everything else is gravy" - Chipnml

Keep this attitude for your entire competitive life and you will be a happy, happy camper.  It takes most of us years to learn what you've set out as your goals.  What I've seen in 18 years of competition is the ones to whom coming in first is the most important are ultimately disatisfied because nobody wins 100% of the time.  This doesn't mean you need to come in last all the time, just don't let winning take you over.  One of the worst rides I had, I came in 2nd and got BC, but I ended up riding with people who snubbed me and I didn't have any fun at all.  The best rides I have are the ones I laugh a lot on, try to get my horse to settle down in the last few miles, and hear the vets tell me "he looks great!" at the final check.  Everything else is--as you said--gravy!
