[RC] Splint Bone - Benedikte Whitman

Question especially for the vets out there.

I have a 15 year old ex-show horse that I am trying to retrain for
Competitive Trail and pleasure riding. I am planning on using her in the
CP division which
here is a 3.5 - 5 mph speed.

I found out this weekend that on her left rear, she broke her splint bone
and so the vet cut it off. She was in a kicking match with another horse
and the bone broke. He clipped it where it broke so it no longer attaches
to anything on the bottom and there is just a bump there. I was wondering
if this might be a potential problem or if it is not something to worry
about too much.

Thanks in advance,
Benedikte
