Re: [RC] "endurance friendly" jobs - Jon . Linderman

Have to confess that my job as a college professor gives me lots of
flexibility in terms of time & lots of flexibility during the summer. In
fact, people soemtimes say I have far more time than they do, as if to say
its unfair. All I did was spend 9 years getting 4 college degrees while
raising 2 kids, and additional 3 years as a post-doctoral fellow (read
research slave) amassing student loans that rival the federal deficit. So
yes my job does give me a decent salary w/a air amount of flexibility, but
then I get jealous of my DINK (double income no kids) friends as well who
can upgrade saddles, horses, and trailers at the drop of a hat. I think we
all have pluses and minuses to our situattions. Now if you have time and
money, well then you got the gelding by the..........

Hi all,
I'm curious (and kind of burned out at my current job). For
those of
you that work, what kinds of jobs do you have that are "endurance
friendly', in that it allows you time to ride and condition, not to
mention have time off on the weekends to attend rides? Do a lot of you
work at home or have your own business? For those of you that have
horse related businesses (like all the places from which I buy my tack
and horse products), is it enough enough to pay your bills and allow
you to go to rides? Not trying to be too nosy, just looking at
alternate career choices. Realistically, I probably won't be able to
make any drastic moves, but I was wondering how everybody else does it.
 Thanks!

Dede
