[RC] [Guest] bodywork - Ridecamp Moderator

Susie enduroqueen@xxxxxxxxxxx
Hi. I'm a massage therapist and exercise specialist in Bend, Oregon. I have personally found that deep tissue massage (specific muscle release)and Alexander Technique have considerably helped balance my body and most importantly increased my awareness of body use/misuse. I have also done Centered Riding --- incredible! I always prescribe cardio training for all my personal training clients over weight training. While training for a marathon this summer, the consistent, challenging cardio sessions have proven themselves very benefiting! One last tidbit: be aware of how you move throughout the day, ie what pantleg, sock, shoe, armhole you put on first, on which leg you lunge, squat to pick things up and what arm you pick things up with....AND USE THE OPPOSITE! It's amazing how you move (and don't move) adds up quickly and results in the performance of your body in various capacities (ie riding). This is the fastest way of becoming more balanced and strength symmetrical. Good luck!
