RE: [RC] [RC] Ft Valley - Catfish Daniels

John,
Why don't you introduce yourself to the endurance community. Tell us
who you are and what your background is. I'm sure there would be a lot
of interested people, including myself. You are entitled to your
opinions, and we all have ours. That's not the point. And I have the
right to disagree. But this forum, unlike some others you may
participate on, shares information, learns from one another, and we try
to keep it friendly. Whether you are right or not, and whether there is
a Bill of Rights or not, NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING gets resolved with
your kind of communication.

Sincerely,
Moron

Catfish,
You do realize that you are living in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA don't

you? Try reading the Bill of Rights you moron! You don't like what I
say?
Fine. You totally disagree? Fine. You don't think I have the right to
say
it? Screw you! I'm not forcing my opinions on anyone and from the number
of
OTHER people who have weighed in on this subject I'd say I may have hit
on a
nerve that needs looking at. Move to Iran!

John Thunder,
I too was trying to look you up on AERC and couldn't find you. So
first
of all, TAKE A CHILL PILL!!!!! Whether you agree with ANYBODY or not,
I
think it would be proper to keep your ridecamp communication at a level
that allows others to participate in your debate. As a ridecamp
participant, I do not appreciate the way you force your opinions onto
others with the words that you choose. If you want to participate in a
trail ride where everybody holds hands when they cross the finish line,
why don't you do that and leave us alone. It is apparent that ride
managers are doing everything they can to make the environment
enjoyable
and most of all as safe as possible. These ride managers ought to be
commended for the incredible job they are doing EACH AND EVERY TIME.
If
you want to re-write the rules of endurance riding, then go ahead and
get started. But until then, buzz off OR change your attitude. We all
have something we disagree on, but we don't have to be total dicks
about
it.

Okay, one last time. It's really interesting that when I first
questioned
the safety of the end of the Ft. Valley ride Tom was more interested in
questioning the distance involved then addressing the problem. When I
mentioned the Renegade accident Helen is more concerned with the number
of
horses involved then addressing the problem and how to prevent future
disasters and now we are told it's always been done that way. The last
20
years etc, well it wasn't always done that way and if it was and it was
wrong who cares if thats the 'way we've always done it'?? The crap
about
a
vet check within the last 6 miles has absolutely NOTHING to do with the
cavalry charge at the end. And yes, I can drive my car at 70 or 80
miles
an
hour if I want to but I can't drive into oncoming traffic or thru a
school
playground because "I feel like it"! Management and riders have a
responsibility to their horses first, the public second,(or maybe even
first), and then too themselves. If you can't guarantee the safety to
all in
what you do, you better change the way you do it! For a sport thats
facing
so many problems (disappearing trails, limits on use of national
forests,
public relation disasters (dead horses, mangled riders, etc.),
encroaching
development) whatever, it seems really sad that we (or you if you
prefer)
don't do those little things to help the sport when they are so easy to
do!!

John Thunder,
Since you are not willing to tell everyone who you are and in what
capacity you were at the Ft Valley ride, then perhaps you have
something to hide.
The Old D requires a vet check with in the last 6 miles of a ride.
That is why the vet check is at Hickory Ln and the finish is at the
other end of the road. This has been done this way for over 20
years. Ride management cannot tell a rider how to ride a ride. If a
person chooses to race it is their option, not ride managements.
As for the Doncaster ride - there were only 3 horses involved in that
horse accident, not the 4 you stated on ride camp. I really wonder
if your facts are correct for other things.
