Re: [RC] Electrolyting Syringes/pro-bis - Deanna German

I think this might be another case of YMMV and of course there are a ton of
variables. I've only done one endurance ride and the rest of the 600+ miles
that my mare has done have been CTR or LD. But I do know that we wouldn't
even be able to consider endurance without the Pro-Bi. I was having EDPP
trouble on 25 -30 mile rides before discovering ABC's liquid Pro-Bi. I use
Perform n Win e'lytes, one scoop. Mix it with the Pro-Bi, top it off with
applesauce and that works for the speed I'm going (slow) and the distances
I'm going. Tried Enduramax and those put my horse off her feed whether mixed
with something or not. But I know of people who swear by Enduramax, so it
must work.

I know I sound like a commercial, but the Pro-Bi really did make a huge
difference. But then, so did your shoeing advice, Angie. (Eventers.)

While you're at it, buy some liquid Pro-Bi to use to mix your e'lytes with.
You won't regret it.

You can overdo pro-bi's. When I first tried them I gave them at every vet
check on a 100. My horse was doing great till he got gassy colic at 80 miles.
Just had to walk it out...but it cost me a completion on aa 100. An hour after
I pulled he was running in circles on the picket line every time a horse left
camp. Talk about making me sick! Now I only add pro-bi's when the gut sounds
are low...or maybe at one out of 4 checks but not in all for sure.
