[RC] [RC] [Guest] mini-crisis-stretching - Ridecamp Moderator - Ridecamp Moderator

For me, Kat's post and Sheila's
posts on this subject seem to
sum up the bottom line on the
questions brought up by horse deaths
at endurance rides-for me it is
that you can get many different
opinions about a set of behaviors
exhibited by your horse during or
after competition, however it is
the rider's "job" to know his/her
mount-what is benign behavior for
one horse might be a signal of life
threatening condition in another. Just
because a vet clears a horse as 'fit
to continue' is no guarantee that the
horse in fact is-seems like it is a
piece of information to be considered
by the rider in the context of what-
ever seems a bit off or different about
the horse from the rider's perspective.

I am sure my thoughts are a compilation
of what others have said here previously-
so if nothing else-please know plenty of
us lurkers are listening!
