Seems like nothing is ever simple. I guess the blood test is the best indicator.

I just looked up Se distribution maps, I found 3 each one was different than
the others. There are apparently lots of areas that may or may not be
deficient depending on what map you look at. For example, my farm may be
adequate, marginal, or low depending on which map you believe.
