[RC] 100s - Kristene Smuts

Not sure if you have this system in the USA, but here in South Africa, they've
brought in the "stepladder" system. Basically, you enter for the full 100, but
you can withdraw at any vet check, provided your horse passed the check. What
this means is that now people can move up in increments and a 100 is no longer
as daunting. If you feel that the 50s no longer hold any magic but a 100 is
far too difficult, then why not try a 65, then a 75 and so on? Some might even
feel so good that they'll do the entire distance in the first go.

Before this system, if you withdrew at any stage before the 100, you lost your
miles, now you are credited with those miles you completed. In my opinion,
that is a far better system and even *I* can try it (me, the biggest ninny this
side of the North Pole!)
