[RC] Nature Conservancy and horse trails - FASTGraphic - A. Perez

"Ah, yes. But the extremist wackos don't really care ...."

As a long-time supporter of the Nature Conservancy I find it
highly amusing to hear them described as "extremist wackos"...
all of the hard-core nature-nuts I know consider the NC to be
very conservative, and not to be trusted because they are run by
a bunch of <*shudder*> REPUBLICANS! The NCs modus operande is
pure free-market: if you want to protect land, then BUY it. The
hard-core enviro's resent the NCs *LACK* of activisim in
promoting a 'green' political agenda, and in their reliance on
land purchases as opposed to legislation to protect habitat.

I don't follow all this very closely, so I am not familiar with
any lobbying of the NC to ban horses from PUBLIC lands... but if
they choose to close trails on Nature Conservancy owned land, it
is their perogative, as those are NOT public lands but privately
owned lands, and they can do with them as they please....
unless, of course, you don't believe in private property rights,
Scott?
