Re: [RC] [RC] Rider Option - Maggie Mieske

I didn't realize surface factors could mean injuries!! Isn't it L-SF? Or
just SF? I don't know if I've ever seen it used yet. Hmmmmm....but there
is a stigma, isn't there? Even when we don't care what our pull rate might
be, we don't want people to think the worst! :)
Miles of smiles,

One problem is this recurring attitude that an M or L means "overridden".
There is a pull code "Surface Factors" for things like tack galls,
injuries
that don't cause lameness, etc. I really don't think we need to muddy the
waters by requiring the vet to diagnose the reason for every horses
lameness. It's difficult enough to get a consistant use of the "L" or ROL
as
it is. ( and M or ROM).
In John's case I was thinking that it could, with a bit of a stretch, fit
into Surface Factors. It seemed to me that "choke" would be considered an
"accident". Monte says no way, definitly metabolic.I think it's a good
thiing we're not ride vets!

Ya know, I'd like to see an option for "injury"....
