[RC] RP saddles and Supracor - Lydia Cassilly

I am evaluating an RP endurance model for my husband (6'3, 215lbs.) and am having problems with stability. It's not the saddle's problem--his mare looks like a beachball. Bought her for her excellent babysitting qualities, not her mutton withers.
The trails here in Arkansas are mucho steep and rough and I am looking to anchor the saddle a little better. Carmi said that Steve Rojek has used Supracor and Dixie Midnight pads with his RP. I would first think that it would be used with bare panels, but have read some folks have used fleece and/or velcro to anchor the pad to other makes of saddle. Anybody out there using something other than booties? Good fortune and safe return to all at the PAC.
