Re: [RC] [RC] [Guest] stall rest - Ridecamp Moderator

Laurie Durgin" <ladurgin@xxxxxxx>

Put lots of hay in a haynet(uphigh).May even get a lesser quality of hay so
he doen't get too fat.

============= Chris christine.pickering@xxxxxxx My 16 year old thoroughbred gelding has just been put on stall rest for 4 months to repair a soft tissue injury in his foot. The first 4-6 weeks he can have lots of hand walking then the remainder of the time very limited turn out (ie short duration & small area). He has a "stall ball" to play with and there will be another horse in the barn all the time to keep him company. Any other thoughts on ways to keep him happy??
