Re: [RC] claming agents that won't test postive, know any? - rackinfool

So ,Ed, are you saying that no herbs can be given to a horse to calm it?  I have been giving Rescue Remedy to my horses after being advised by both riders and Vets. I take a few drops myself. I don't have the bottle up here at the house, to see exactly what is in it, but I am curious if NO herbal tincture can be given.

The AERC drug rule has no loop hole for "herbal remidies".  Remember that the leaves of the Coca plant are "herbs" and as a source of cocane are illegal in this country.  Nicotine comes from Tobacco.  It is a drug and a poison.  I could go on and on.  The status of a substance as a performance enhancer has nothing to do with whether it comes from a plant or a factory.  If it enhances performance it is a drug.

Lets not get into the silly argument that grain has nutrients and nutrients enhance performance.  We all know what nutrients are and that they are not forbidden for obvious reasons.
