Another thing that worked on an old pack that I hadn't used for years that was 
stuck, was simply putting it in the washing machine. After a few times throught 
it got all the grit and dirt out and worked just fine. Now I wash my current 
pack at least once a year or more if it gets especially dirty to prevent the 
dirt and grit and electrolytes from causing a jam. I don't like to use 
chemicals because it can cause some fabrics to break down and become weaker.
