If you don't end up finding 'just a shock absorber'; I have a couple pairs
of Spring Stirrups.  I used them for a couple years when I was having a knee
problem. Easy to 2-point or post in and absorbes the shock (especially down
hill trotting & rough trotters).  Let me know
