[RC] re: horses eating oak trees in hot weather - A. Perez

My guess is they are in the shade to get out of the heat, rather
then grazing out in the hot sun.  Being horses, they want to
chew, and whaddya know, there's a handy tree right here...

Wrap the trunks of the tree in hardware cloth to protect them,
or fence them off ...unless you want them killed ;-) ... and if
you want to indulge your horses, hang haynets in the shade so
they can eat and keep cool.
