> How many horse deaths doing LD's vs 50's....anyone know?
Too bad we don't have hard numbers going back many years.  Back when 25's
were run for regular points and miles just like any other distance,
treatments and the occasional death were pretty much the norm--and it was
the high number of treatments and problems that led AERC to redefine
"endurance" as 50 and up.  With the newer approach, the problems have
dropped considerably on the shorter distances, from what I can see.
