The "rope" around his neck is called a "tack rein" for those of you unfamiliar. There is a group of kids here in the Boise area called the Ehcapa Riders that perform in a group using tack reins and riding bareback. They even jump, it's most impressive. I'd like to know more about riding with a tack rein, but my I'm afraid all my trusty Morgan mare would do is eat without something on her head:)
