Re: [RC] Need advice on GN LQ trailers - Bonnie Davis
I Was up in Eugene, Oregon at the Oregon Horse
Center where Silverado Trailers are built. In fact, I'm looking at them
custom building me a trailer. They are really nice and I was surprised
that they are not anymore expensive than some of the manufactured-on-the-lot
trailers. This way I can put what I want here, there or anywhere.
They're website is www.silveradotrailers.com but if you
want to talk to someone, e-mail Kirk Toy (he's factory sales manger) at kirk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or call
(541) 744-0447.
OK, we decided against buying a motorhome and giving up our
GN trailer. We're going to look for a 3H GN Living Quarter trailer
now.
1) Which brands seem to be the best value and quality? I
know they contract out the manufacture/assemblage of the LQ interior most of
the time, so that can influence the quality of innards.
2) Anyone
know of or have one for sale? Preferably in very good to excellent
shape. Looking for 10 plus foot short wall living quarters. Also
prefer seperate shower from toilet. Trailer can not be longer than 37
feet total.... or else it won't fit in our driveway. Ideally located not
too far from California.
3) I'm also thinking that trailers cost
more in California than in say Texas, AZ or NM. Got any names/phone
numbers of dealers with new and/or used inventory?
New 3H GN 10+' LQ
trailers were going for $35,000-$40,000+. Obviously, I would like to pay
less.... say in the $25,000 - $30,000 range for a great used
one.
4) We'll then be selling our 3H GN Sundowner Valuelite 1998
trailer. We added a carpeted bench and carpeted shelves in the tack
room. Its in very good shape. New ones are going for $18,000 or
so. We would like to get $14,000 OBO.
