[RC] Poem to help grieving horse owner - Heather Saunders

I lost my 8 yr old gelding recently to a barbed wire
accident, so I know what your friend is going through.
this is a quote my vet sent me in a sympathy card, I
thought your friend may find comfort in it and perhaps
others out there who grieve the loss of their trail
buddies as well.

"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even
more temporary than our own, live within a fragile
circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept
its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We
cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never
fully understanding the necessary plan."

Irving Townsend "Fragile Circle"

My thoughts and prayers go out to your friend.
Heather
