In a word, yes.  Becky's horse got rubbed by the binding. I have a couple of 
supracors and the one I use is the one with the inserts in the pad so to keep 
it cleaner, I use a pad underneath it.  Be sure to hook the velcro so that it 
will not slide out the back.  Also, Trailrite sells a polarfleece pad that is 
just to keep your expensive pads clean.  It attaches to the front of the saddle 
so that it does not slip.  It would eliminate the "perching" effect.....mb
