[RC] ah, youth! and hormones!! - GoTory

Ridecamp has been so helpful with responding to many of my inquiries- thank
you!
The latest is two fold... 3 1/2 yr old filly, about 14-1, 825#, "solid"
construction and short back, sane mind... suggestions on knowing, from a
physical
standpoint, when weight bearing is safe? Have sat on her but no "riding"
yet....
AND- please!!- will her tendency to go into heat within 5 minutes of
seeing the horses she's attracted to- which includes my mature mare!- be
something
she grows out of?? She bumps her hips against anything and everything and
our aluminum corral panels will never stand up to that abuse! I don't think
the
hormone shots are something I want to consider at this age. Has anyone here
tried the marble-in-the-womb treatment yet? Would any of the herbal mare
treatments be helpful- and safe?
Thanks!! nikki
