[RC] Washoo Ride, July 26, near Reno, NV - Maureen A. Fager

Hello,
The Dog Valley Ride, near Reno, Nevada, which was planned to take place on July, 26 has been cancelled due to weed free hay regulations required by the USFS. The ride managers have moved the ride to Washoe State Park and renamed it the ?Washoo Ride.? It will take place July 26, 2003 and has been sanctioned by AERC. This ride will include a 15 mile introductory ride, a 25 mile LD and 50 mile endurance ride. This 15 mile event will include a clinic the morning of the ride for all entered in the 15 mile ride. The clinic will include topics of:
Introduction to Distance Riding
Basics of Conditioning Distance Horses
Nutrition Basics
Equipment
Vet Checks-How Do They Work
Trail Markings and how to read them
Care of the Rider
Start time of the clinic is 9:00 am, Saturday, July 26.
Awards for the 15 mile ride will include a completion award for all finishers, and a "Fit to Finish" award for the horse determined to be the most fit at the end of the ride. For an entry, please contact:

I don't have entries to send out but will try to answer any questions.
The 15 mile ride is not sanctioned by AERC, helmets will be required for all junior riders.
