And I, for one, agree.  If the AERC allows 4 year olds in LD's, and promotes 
a BC for one of the Top Ten fastest horses, then they are in fact promoting 
(or at the very least allowing) the racing of 4 year olds.  Therefor the 
organization should do one of the following:
    1.  State unequivocally that 4 is an appropriate racing age for horses.
    2. Up the age requirement for entry.
    3. Stop the awards for and acknowledgment of speed in LD's.
To claim that "it doesn't happen very often" is not good enough.  The rules 
should be clear - and they should, as always, have the health of the horses as 
the paramount concern.
