Re: [RC] Equine ulcers - gastrogard vs generic tagamet - Heidi Smith

I've heard of other people who have used the generic form of
Tagamet(CIMETIDINE) for their horses at a much lower cost.

<snip>
Has anyone on the list used the generic Tagamet successfully
for the treatment of ulcers in an equine?

You betcha. Used it for years with considerable success before Gastrogard
came out. Also used a similar drug called ranitidine--more expensive than
cimetidine, but less expensive than Gastrogard.

Heidi
