[RC] Different pommel placement on sport saddles - Kristi Schaaf

Hi all -
Yesterday I recd a new sport saddle that I had ordered
a couple months ago. I noticed that the space between
the underside of the pommel and the saddle is much
broader than it is on any of my other sport saddles
(there's no peak whatsoever at the saddle front on
this new one). I can put BOTH hands, palms down,
inbetween the pommel and the saddle. I asked the rep
about it and she told me that they're all being made
that way now and it should fit my horse unless he has
high withers. Well, he DOES have nice withers. I
hadn't had any trouble with the older sport saddles
fitting him and didn't know of the change, so I wasn't
aware that I might need to order a peaked pommel for
him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when I try it
on him tonite he'll still have wither room. Have any
of you with recently purchased new sport saddles had
any trouble with the new pommel configuration rubbing
your horse's withers?
