Since C is water soluable and E is fat soluable, I'm curious why you'd
"megadose" with E but not C. I was under the impression that vitamin
toxicity is much less likely with huge doses of water soluable vitamins.

Toxicity isn't the concern here.  Horses make their own C, and megadosing
with it can depress their own ability to manufacture it.  The point of even
using C in horses is to tide them through a stressful time when they might
not make enough.  (This isn't an issue in people, since we don't make our
own.)  E is extremely non-toxic, so even though it is fat soluble, it is
safe to use in high doses.  (And the recommended levels of E in cases like
this are around 6000-8000 units--not really a "megadose" in the strict sense
of the word--just more than the "requirement.")
