but the procedure of going in from the
front of the neck is non-conventional and the Doctor Wrobell, neurosurgon
who was instrumental in developing the surgery at UCLA was 
not Stewarts
neurosurgon, but a referral.  

Mine was done in summer of 1991 and was an anterior cervical laminectomy with 
fusion at two levels.  They did it from the front and used cadaver bones.  I 
know this is neither a new procedure nor an experimental one.  It is even 
pictured in the medical books.  But I am glad I did not see how they moved 
stuff around to get to he spine before I had the surgery done.  The incision is 
really quite small and they put it in a fold of the neck so that it is barely 
noticable.....mb
