[RC] Ariat Tevis Boots - Carolyn Burgess

Hi all:

Just wanted to let you know that I received my new pair of Ariat Tevis (now called Terrain) boots yesterday.  Put them on and they fit and support like any of my other Ariat boots.  I ususally ride the Hexcel boots, and these are just as nice at a much lower price.  The Hexcel's go for around $175,  I bought the Tevis boots from Dover Saddlery for $75.  They are more like a hiking boot than a riding boot.  I haven't ridden in them yet, but I was on my feet in them yesterday on concrete and no foot soreness.

I need to preface that I have really bad feet.  They are a size 11EE (ladies) and the Ariat ladies 11 boots fit me fine. I also have very boney feet with thick calouses and a very poor arch that needs lots of support.   I can wear my regular cotton riding socks with no problem, but wouldn't be able to get in the boot with a pair of polar fleece or heavy wool socks.  These boots not only fit my feet, but give me the support I need to be on my feet 12 hours a day.  However, I think the reason that the regular width boots fit me is because my feet and ankles are boney.  Most people with wide feet (please take no offense as I don't fit the stereotype) are also very heavy and have fat on their feet and ankles, which I don't.  I just have a wide foot.
