Hi. I have two horses and both of them had a reaction to a
five way shot that was given by myself. They both had fevers of 103, hard time
eating hay on the floor (I always give them in the neck and the butt and this
one was given in the neck), acted like they were drunk while walking and had
the shakes. I called the vet, gave them bute and he gave them cortizone and
anti-inflammatories in shot form. They were fine the next day but scared the
crap out of me. Especially since I had just attended a West Nile information
seminar a few nights before that happened. I called the company that made
the vaccine and they were VERY interested in taking my information and
appreciated the fact I reported it. I recommend reporting it. Mine didn't
because he'd seen a lot of cases this year, same symptoms.
