Re: [RC] [RC] Horse Heart Rate Monitors - DeAnn Schnepple

I had to recently purchase a new HR monitor (mine was stolen at the Alpine ride last year :( Anyway, I bought one for $25.00!! It works great. The brand is Lifesource. It also has a built in watch and it's water resistant. It's geared towards people, but I didn't tell my horse that! Worked great at Grizzly Mt. ride.

Hello,

I understand the concept of using a HR monitor to train with as
I have used one for years in my personal training, but my question is
whether a Polar HR monitor for humans will pickup a horse's heart rate if
the horse is equipped with the proper transmitter. A comparison of the
products available shows the horse models to be very similar to their human
counterparts. Thanks.
