[RC] people shampoo - Laura Hayes

I have to respond to Dyane who recommended against people shampoo for
horses. I would assume that would include dogs?? I hear all the time that
you shouldn't use people shampoo on dogs....WEELLLLLL, I have been grooming
dogs for many years - I don't do it full time anymore, but I still do about
30 dogs a week. I have always used human shampoo and have never had a
problem. My partner (who does another 20 per week) and I use Suave shampoos
and conditioners. We do keep dog oatmeal and hypoallergenic around, as well
as a whitening shampoo, but the majority of the dogs (and cats) get Suave.
It smells great, it rinses well, and if you do get some near an eye, you can
rinse and I have never had an irrated eye from it.

I read in the newspaper in two different articles recently that the pH in
human shampoo is different than dog. NOT TRUE. We tested it!!
