Ericka,

Option only-the truck is to small.  Yes, you can beef up the suspension, but
braking would probably be a problem.  If you choose to go this way, by all
means use the trailer brakes, too.  I wouldn't trust the transmission
either.  That truck has a bad reputation for not holding up under a load.
My suggestion is to go up another size in truck.

If you stay with the Chevys get one with an Allison trans (3/4 ton).
