Trust me, oil does not scare off snakes. If that was the case then why are
the Kern River Oilfields so full of rattlesnakes? And believe me, there a
plenty of leaks out there.

off snakes: please DO NOT do this: motor oil does NOT break
down: eventually it finds it's way to the water table and into
the water supply, and this stuff is not good to drink.  That's
why in-ground fuel oil tanks are now illegal: no way to tell
when they have sprung a leak, and if they do, you have to pay to
have ALL the contaminated soild removed.  EPA does not do this
for laughs: they do it because fuel oil is TOXIC...
not to mention the fact that I doubt it works to ward of
snakes.
