[RC] Questions on overnight accomodations for the ponies - sharon1359

Hi,

My friend and I are newbies. We did our first CTR last weekend (the plan is
CTRs and LDs this year, LDs and 50s next year). One thing we knew before we
went was that we will need to find some other way to keep the horses safe
overnight, besides just tying to the trailer with a lead rope.

We're considering either a HiTie/SkyHook type trailer tie, or a metal corral
(corrals2go.com probably).

I have some concerns. Probably the biggest one is that I really don't want to
add any extra weight to my trailer. My next concern is that when the corral is
attached to the outside of the trailer, it will further reduce the aerodynamics
of my trailer.

Which is better for the horse - corral or HiTie-type tether? If a corral is
better, is it ENOUGH better to justify the added weight and reduced
aerodynamics?? Not to mention the higher cost!!!

Thanks,
-Sharon
