Re: [RC] sneakers for riding - Jim HollandHmmmm...as long as you don't mind getting your feet wet, guess those "sneakers" are OK....still prefer the Ariat Expedition myself...just can't wear the dang things out...and they're waterproof, with good arch support, nice heel, and support your ankles on those long downhill runs. Throw away the stupid strings that come with them...they last about 3 rides. Buy some nice braided strings for hunting boots at the local sports store. Also forget that expensive "creme" made by Ariat. Buy some Kiwi Mink Oil (really a cream). Work it liberally into the boot with a stiff brush, let it dry overnite, then wipe it off. My last pair lasted two seasons of many hours of training, HARD rides and lots of time on the ground. Gotta love 'em! I had to grin when I saw the name. Susposed to "reduce fatigue and stress in feet, lower legs and back. Is cushioned, anti-microbial, removable insole conforms to shape of foot. Forked composite fiber shank provides max all-day support and provides superior traction on all terrain." Sounds pretty nifty. Will be available in June and Smith Brothers lists them for $79.95. My Justin sneakers are holding together by threads. I love them and was just gonna get another pair. They are around $69 so I may wait til June and try the new Ariats. Regards, PennyDoes anybody have good info on a shoe you can both ride safely and run out of the saddle?=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
