My sister says I should throw away the shoes and wear the box. :-P I got to try out some shoes for a comparison article Trail Blazer did. The widest were the Teva shoes, but I am lucky enough to be able to wear the men's which run wider. Their trail shoes are really nice. I think they are usually in the nicer backpacking stores. New Balance runners are good too. I've worn Asics. Usually avoid Nikes since they run narrow but happen to have a pair now that's working. To me the most important thing was a good stirrup.
