[RC] [Guest] saddles - Ridecamp Guest

Nancy Reed nancy@elfinforest

Help! I too am in the mist of the great saddle search. I have a 14 hand
Arab mare w/ no withers. She is 5 years old and is a rosy grey. She is
petite and short backed. She is from Bask/Profire lines. I live in
southern California with lots of rocky hills. I have a breast collar and
will add a crupper necessary. I prefer a western type of saddle. However I
know I'm headed toward the English style.

My 1950's Simco is to narrow in the front and rubs her shoulders. I ordered
a Sports Saddle and it is just too big. The SS rubs on her loins. It
created 2 white spots were the longer dark hair has been rubbed off, leaving
the shorter lighter hairs. The SS was too big around the girth too. I
was/am so disappointed it did not fit.

I'm looking at a Mackinder Flex Ride endurance saddle, a Marciante and an
Albetta endurance (cordura). What have you Ride Campers found works for
you? I really need some help. Thank you in advance for your time,

Nancy Reed
